Besides hybrid, 2021 Renegade will also offer the same engine options as the current model. That includes two powertrains and a standard front-wheel-drive system.
2021 Jeep Renegade Engine
The upcoming 2021 Jeep Renegade will continue to offer the same engine lineup. That includes two engine options. A 1.4-liter four-cylinder turbo is producing 160 hp and 185 lb-ft of torque. This unit is available with a manual transmission. Optionally, a 2.4-liter four-cylinder is available too. It cranks out 180 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque.
It comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This engine is available on the Limited model as standard. Front-wheel-drive setup is standard and four-wheel-drive system is optional once again. All-new 2021 Renegade can tow almost 2000 pounds.
Jeep Renegade PHEV
Jeep will finally introduce a plug-in hybrid system in its new 2021 Jeep Renegade. This subcompact crossover will arrive with the platform that can accommodate a rear-mounted electric motor. Front-wheel-drive will remain as a standard system. Renegade PHEV will deliver more power than the regular Renegade. Visually, the hybrid model won’t depart from the base model.
The interior room won’t be sacrificed at all. Jeep will most likely combine the optional engine with the electric generator and the battery pack. This output will produce around 230 horsepower and it will offer astonishing mileage figures. Current Renegade is rated at 27 mpg combined. Renegade PHEV will surely deliver over 33 mpg.
2021 Jeep Renegade Offers Interesting Design
Renegade wears one of the most recognizable designs in the segment. The subcompact crossover looks so unique and stylish. Front fascia offers a very interesting design with round headlights and the seven-slot grille.
The 2021 Jeep Renegade comes with shorter overhangs and standard 16-inch wheels. Fog lights and a rearview camera are also standard. If you want rain-sensing wipers and removable My Sky roof you’ll have to pay additionally. The traditional design will largely remain. The only visual updates will happen in the back. Taillights are slightly reshaped and rear bumper now looks more aggressive.
From the inside, the 2021 Jeep Renegade will also get a small number of refreshments. A five-passenger layout will stay intact. For a subcompact crossover, Renegade offers ample passenger room. Even the cargo area is generous and it provides 19 cubic feet of space. On top of that, folding the rear seats flat will open up 50 cubic feet of space.
Renegade is a very practical vehicle from the inside. Even the front seats can be folded so you can store longer items as well. Comfort is more than satisfying. The leather upholstery is optional. The steering wheel now comes with slightly more functions than before. Jeep will now offer more standard safety equipment and some new high-tech features.
Price and Release Date
Due to small modifications and upgrades, new 2021 Jeep Renegade will keep its existing price. The price starts at $21,000 while the Renegade PHEV will cost around $26,000.
The hybrid version is currently produced in Italy and will firstly arrive in Europe. Renegade will be available in the United States as well. This subcompact crossover will hit the dealerships at the beginning of 2020.
