2020 Isuzu D-Max Refresh, Release Date, Price, and Specs. The renowned Japanese manufacturer prepares a new generation of the excellent mid-size truck. Still, the latest reports suggest it won’t be ready for the next year, which is a clear indicator that 2020 Isuzu D-Max is going to come without bigger changes.
To remind you, the current model is in the second generation. It is present since 2012, but we must say that there were few updates so far. A facelift was three years ago. Still, the current model looks fresh enough, so this waiting for the next generation won’t be a problem at all. With its amazing capabilities and even more impressive fuel economy, this model is still one of the best trucks in the class. Considering all this, we are pretty sure that the 2020 Isuzu D-Max will come without bigger changes, featuring the same engines and overall design. Still, some new standard features are possible.
2020 Isuzu D-Max several engines options
In this aspect, 2020 Isuzu D-Max will continue without changes. This truck is available around the globe, so it is no wonder that there are several powertrain choices. The most common is definitely a 3.0-liter diesel unit. This engine is in the offer in most countries of the world. It is characterized not only by great power but excellent fuel economy. A total output goes around 180 horsepower.
In Europe, there’s a new 1.9-liter twin-turbo diesel engine, which is good for about 165 horses. On some markets, there’s a capable 2.5-liter with around 135 horses in the offer.
There is a gasoline engine in the offer, which is available in some countries of South America. This version features a 2.4-liter engine, which is good for 125 horses and 155 pound-feet of torque. Pretty much all engines could be paired with either manual or automatic transmission.
2020 Isuzu D-Max design without bigger changes
Just like we mentioned, this could be a final year of production for the second-generation D-Max. Manufacturers usually don’t offer bigger changes right before the redesign and this shouldn’t be an exception. The 2020 Isuzu D-Max will continue in the same way. This excellent truck is known for its relation with Chevy Colorado. These two trucks share the architecture. Still, each model comes with its own styling. This one looks very attractive, despite its age. We have seen a few updates so far.
The bigger one, a real mid-cycle update was done in 2015. For that occasion, we have seen various improvements, especially in terms of styling. Don’t expect more visual changes for the current generation. Another update came last year when we saw plenty of new standard features. Many of these were in terms of safety, so 2020 D-Max will be among class-leaders in this segment.
2020 Isuzu D-Max Release Date and Price
Since there will be no changes, 2020 Isuzu D-Max will come late in the year. We don’t expect changes in price either, so base models should be available at 22.000 dollars, roughly. A list of competitors will also remain unchanged, with models like Ford Ranger, Chevy Colorado, Toyota Hilux etc.
Isuzu D-Max next-generation model
As we already mentioned, the company works on the next-generation model, which will most likely come as a 2020-year model. It is important to mention that the new Mazda BT-50 will be based on a new version of this truck. Latest reports suggest that the new BT-50 will be pretty much a re-badged version of the new D-Max. It will feature completely the same chassis, body, and engines. Expect also a completely identical styling and interior design. These two trucks will be coming out from the same Isuzu’s assembly in Thailand.
